I can not get Ezdrummer 2 to show a signal and record in Studio one 4. It only shows signal with ps49 asked Apr 16 in Studio One 4 by christopherpeluso ( 120 points). Jul 24, 2019  On the 4th of July, Presonus put out a tweet for Studio One v5 with a embedded link to view an image. They were stating the awesome new features of v5 (the link was broken), I responded to them about the post, but it went strangely silent.

PreSonus® is now shipping Studio One® 4.5, a major update to its powerful yet easy-to-use recording and production software. With more than 70 new features and improvements, this free update for Studio One 4 users adds several of the most requested features from the Studio One user community and adds advanced tools that streamline professional audio and MIDI production workflows.

The redesigned Input Channel section adds updated hardware preamp controls for selected PreSonus audio interfaces, as well as software-based input gain and phase controls to every input. This combination of hardware- and software-based gain controls offers more flexibility and control throughout the entire recording and mixing process. All audio and instrument channels, effects channels, and buses also feature gain and phase controls so you can manage perfect levels across the entire mix without increasing event gain.

Grouping has been completely redesigned: Groups now have attributes for defining edit groups or mix groups using attributes for Volume, Pan, Mute/Solo, Inserts, and Sends. Groups can be nested and can be easily edited and activated/suspended with one click. A dedicated command can globally enable/disable all Groups at once.

Setting up an external audio interface is a lot easier thanks to several I/O setup improvements. Add any number of new inputs and outputs in just one step, including custom naming and coloring. Inputs and outputs can be reordered with simple drag-and-drop. Users who switch interfaces, move between studios, or collaborate will appreciate the new Import and Export options for I/O setups.

A new Plug-In Manager lists all installed third-party plug-ins, including a list of plug-ins that were blacklisted during the initial scan, allowing them to be reset individually or globally. Showing or hiding individual or groups of plug-ins only takes a few clicks.

Honoring one of Studio One users’ top requests, CPU load for using combined virtual instruments inside a Multi-Instrument has been reduced by a whopping 70% for Native Plug-ins and by around 50% for third-party instruments like Kontakt. CPU optimization has also been implemented for Mai Tai, Presence XT, SampleOne® XT, and Impact XT.

Studio One 4.5 takes MIDI editing to a new level with major new features and improvements to speed up workflow. Several powerful new note actions have been added; examples include Fill with Notes, Randomize Notes, Apply Scale and Mirror Notes. Note actions can be used manually and individually, and they can be assigned to keyboard shortcuts and used as part of a Macro command. Shortcuts or Macros can then be added to any Macro Toolbar, enabling even more powerful customization.

The new update adds many other important features and enhancements. For instance, the Chord Selector now offers a convenient Audition mode. Individual Audio Events, Audio Parts, and Instrument Parts in an arrangement can now be locked to prevent unintentional moving or editing, and you can even lock entire tracks. You can now export video with the audio mixdown as the soundtrack. AAC (m4a) and ALAC (Apple Lossless) format compatibility for audio import and export at different bit depths and sample rates have been added.

PreSonus Delivers Major Studio One 4.1 Update

PreSonus® is now shipping Studio One® version 4.1, a major update to its popular music production software (DAW) for Mac® and Windows®. The version 4.1 update includes both Studio One 4 Artist and Studio One 4 Professional and is free to registered users.

Studio One Professional’s unique Pipeline XT plug-in lets you insert hardware processors into your Studio One session with automatic latency compensation, enabling you to easily mix and match your favorite plug-ins with your hardware processors. With Studio One Professional 4.1, Pipeline XT has received a complete user interface makeover and has added several new features and improvements. For example, latency can now be measured and compensated automatically with a single click; you can then make manual adjustments. The maximum delay has been increased from 5,000 samples to 32,000 samples. The stereo Pipeline XT plug-in now supports mono sends without losing a second hardware output. In the “useful and cool” department, you can take a snapshot of your external effects processor and drag it into the Pipeline XT center display to capture hardware settings for later manual recall. A new note pad allows you to add text notes to your presets to document specific setup instructions and parameter settings for your hardware processor. Everything can be saved into presets.

Tempo track editing is faster and better than ever. Now you can edit tempo with Studio One’s familiar automation tools for ramps, curves, and smoother adjustments. Switch between the default time-linear timebase and a new beat-linear timebase so that the grid no longer jumps under the mouse pointer. Narrow the Tempo Track display range to a musically meaningful range for improved tempo editing and visibility.

Studio One 4 eased the process of switching between other DAWs and Studio One by supporting AAF (Advanced Authoring Format). With version 4.1’s new AAF export options, compatibility with other DAWs has been vastly improved. You can now embed WAV or AIFF audio files, instead of referencing them; split stereo tracks (important for exporting to Pro Tools); and create copies of audio files in WAV or AIFF format, with a choice of resolution and sample rate. Trim file sizes by eliminating unused regions; export pan automation—or don’t, if you’re exporting to an application that doesn’t recognize it; and use the new Legacy mode to export to an application that only imports AAF 1.0.

Fully remote-controllable from any MIDI controller, Note Repeat has been vastly improved. Note Repeat now has its own section in the Record Panel where you can activate/deactivate Note Repeat, select a repeat rate, and activate/deactivate Note Erase. Set the gate time for notes and use key or poly pressure to control note velocity. Quantize notes to the song grid (similar to Quantize in Impact XT); when Quantize is inactive, notes are triggered instantly from a key or pad. Use Key Remote mode to control all Note Repeat functions from a keyboard controller. These are just a few of the new Note Repeat features.
